Movement distinguishes the living from the dead.

Every living thing moves in some way. Even plants, if you watch them over the course of a day, will move. Rocks don’t move. Not of their own volition. Movement is a pursuit for the living.

We are like sharks. If we stop moving we die. Rather, if we stop moving, it is because we are dead. Movement is equal to life. We refer to someone who moves a lot as being lively. Even a lively conversation is one that moves between topics.

The body takes our movements as signals to improve. Whatever moves will have resources devoted to it. Movement is evolution in action.

To move is to be alive. Prove that you are alive by moving. The more you move, the more of the world you get to experience.

I’ve never been much of a mover. I only discovered the value of movement in the past few years. I was the sort of person that could easily wallow in my bed for the entire day and move as little as possible. I assumed that movement = negative effect on mood. Only recently have I learnt that motion is an effective cure for lethargy. Action kills anxiety.
